The megatron effect
Megatron is the name given to the effect typical of discotheques and other electronic music shows.
It consists of creating an extremely powerful jet of gas that is generated with carbon dioxide . When it comes out, it produces a great sound and also lowers the interior temperature of the room, which contributes to its air conditioning, and to cool the audience.
It is usually reserved for firing at moments of musical climax, accentuating the enthusiasm of the people.
In a discotheque there may be one exit to launch the megatron or several, depending on the size and characteristics of the space.
The name comes from the first discotheque in Spain that had this equipment, Megatron in Mataró (Barcelona).
Megatron and other special smoke effects can be applied to other events, not only have to be associated with nightclubs.
